"I would probably recommend this trip to a friend."
Starting at La Push, across the river from Rialto Beach, this trail usually takes 3 days to complete. The beach walking isn't all that hard, but the headlands (which you must climb over to avoid the surf at high tide) can involve a few hundred feet of steep elevation gain. There are plenty of excellent campsites right on the beach. This hike is great year-round, but the waves are most dramatic (and the weather at its crappiest) in the winter and spring.
Check with the ranger station for required permits, reservations, and raccoon-proof food container requirements.
Note : This is backcountry wilderness travel. Any trail can become very dangerous in winter conditions. You are responsible for informing yourself of the hazards and taking the necessary precautions.
