It's mostly in the National Forest. Eastern trailhead is not too far from Dungeness Forks Campground on Road 2870. Trail heads up river through some logged areas. At about 4 miles is a bridge over the river that is damaged and unsafe along with some slide areas. Across the bridge, the trail goes through some lovely old forest passing a trail up Slab Camp Creek to a road. Farther on, the trail reaches 3 Forks Shelter at the edge of the Park where the Gray Wolf and Cameron Creek join. A 3800' ascent leads to DeerPark. Nice trail buts lots of problems. For more info go to www.wta.org. Click on Trip Reports, click on Browse by Region, select Olympics, and browse Gray Wolf River entries.
