ACCESS:
Deer Ridge Trail #846 starts 14 miles southwest of Sequim on Forest Service Road #2875. Approximately 2.5 miles west of Sequim on US Highway 101, take a left on the Taylor Cutoff Road to Lost Mountain Road and proceed to the intersection of Forest Service Road #2870. Take a left on #2870, then take a right when you come to the #2875 Road. Proceed on #2875 until you come to the parking area at Slab Camp and the trailhead is on the right. This trail ends at Deer Park Campground in the Olympic National Park.

FACILITIES:
There is ample parking. Several rustic campsites are adjacent to trailhead.

SETTING:
Trail begins in forest and ends in alpine meadows in the Park. Splendid views of snow-covered peaks in the Olympics are frequent at the higher elevations.

TRAIL INFORMATION:
5.2 miles in length, grade is moderate to steep, 35% maximum. Trail enters Park at 3.6 miles. Overnight camping in Park backcountry requires Wilderness permit.

OPPORTUNITIES:
Hiking, backpacking, scenic views. Dispersed camping at Slab Camp and also camping at the Deer Park Campground. Please use existing campsites when possible and camp at least 100 feet from water sources. Treat all water taken from streams before drinking. Pack out what you pack in.

Practice LEAVE NO TRACE techniques during your trip.

CLOSURES: Motorized vehicles and mountain bikes are prohibited. Pack and saddle stock are not recommended due to the steep grades. Pets and firearms are prohibited in the Olympic National Park.

PASS REQUIRED:
A Northwest Forest Pass is required on all vehicles parked at the trailhead. $5 Day Pass & $30 Annual Pass are available at FS offices and vendors. Passes are not available at trailheads.
