FROM PORT ANGELES - An extended 10.7-mile trip from the Elwha River to Dose Meadows. This trail connects the Elwha and Dosewallips drainages ... Miles of marvelous forest, then alpine meadows waist-deep in flowers, where fragrance makes the head swim on warm days. FROM THE DOSEWALLIPS AREA - The Dosewallips area includes major waterways of the Main Fork Dosewallips, West Fork Dosewallips and Duckabush Rivers. These systems eventually flow into the Hood Canal. The headwaters lie on Hayden Pass, Anderson Pass and First Divide, in the central eastern Olympic Mountains. From this subalpine terrain the drainages descend into montane forests. Anderson and Eel Glaciers lie at the head of the West Fork Dosewallips River. In addition to the many miles of winding trails in this area visitors will find a campground and two ranger stations.
